Oat Cookies

This was my first attempt to bake cookies, as i had stopped buying them! Wanted to try out something very basic with wheat flour and oats. So assembled all the ingredients, wheat flour, oats, brown sugar, pure olive oil, some baking soda and salt.

Ingredients: |Preparation Time: 10 mins|

  • Wheat Flour  1 1/2 cup
  • Oats  1 cup
  • Brown Sugar(Powdered)  1 cup
  • Pure Olive Oil  1 cup
  • Baking soda  1 tsp
  • Salt  1/2 tspn

Method: |Baking Time: 15 mins|

Preheat the oven at 180 deg C. Keep all the ingredients ready, add the wheat flour, oats, sugar, baking soda and salt into a mixing bowl and mix it well with your hands, then slowly start pouring in the oil and knead the mixture into a smooth dough. The consistency is neither too hard nor too soft, when you make a dollop out of it, should not be runny, it should remain firm on the tray(as shown in the pic).

Once the dough is ready, make small dollops of the dough and place it equi distance on the baking tray and bake it for 15 mins. Take it out once its done and let it cool. Store them in air tight jars and have this as your tea time snack!

Hope you like and enjoy my easy cookie recipe!

*Tip: When you powder the brown sugar, you need not powder it fine. Its nice to bite into some sugar crystals in the cookie!
