My first attempt in baking a chocolate cake was a great experience! Everybody loved it,it tasted good plain, as well when heated a bit and had it with vanilla ice cream ,it was even more tasty. We re not very fond of the chocolate cream on top of the cake so decided just to bake the cake with some walnuts into it and not the cream!
Ingredients:|Preparation Time:15 mins|
- Wheat Flour 2 cups
- Eggs 3
- Cocoa Powder 5 tbspn
- Baking Powder 1tspn
- Sugar 1 cup
- Vanilla essence 1 tspn
- Olive oil 1 1/2cup
- Walnuts 1 cup(cut into medium pieces)
- Milk just enough to loosen up

Sift the wheat flour ,cocoa powder and baking powder together and keep it aside. Powder the sugar and mix it with oil and eggs ,beat it well along with the vanilla essence in a mixing bowl. Now add the wheat flour mixture into this bowl slowly and keep beating it to avoid lumps,and make a smooth batter ,it might be a bit thick,add in some milk into it to loosen it up. Beat it up well and put the half of the mix into a greased mould, add in half the walnuts over it and again pour in the remaining batter and top it up with the remaining walnuts.
Put it into a 180 C preheated oven for 45 mins. Check if its done by pricking the cake with a fork or a sharp object,if it comes out clean it s ready.Pull it out of the oven and let it cool. Cut it into your desired size and enjoy it plain or heat it a bit and have it with a scoop of vanilla ice cream….ummmmm..yummy:)
